Sarah has been teaching contemplative practices since 1993, and served as the education director for Deepak Chopra’s Mind Body Center. She later spent months in residence at an ashram in India, and later, was a two-year resident trainee at a Zen Buddhist monastery. After leaving the monastic life, she became the director of the School for the Work of Byron Katie. She went on to establish the McLean Meditation Institute where she offered in person meditation training, and in 2012, she founded the Meditation Teacher Academy where she certifies meditation and mindfulness teachers through its 300-hour professional teacher training program. Sarah also served as the director of the Feast for the Soul, a nonprofit she is now co-director of, which in 2008 was the world’s first virtual 40-day spiritual practice period.
Sarah is also the author of Soul-Centered: Transform Your Life in 8 Weeks with Meditation and The Power of Attention: Awakening to Love & its Infinite Potential. After 17 years living in Sedona, Arizona where she ran a world-class destination meditation center, she now lives in Santa Barbara, California with her cats, dog, husband and bees. She focuses on living sustainably, writing, speaking at leadership retreats and conferences, and offering online classes.
